Sayyiduna Abdullah Ibn Abbas (ra) is reported to have mentioned that the following Dua should be written and placed close to the woman who is experiencing difficult labor at the time of giving birth.
بِسْمِ ٱللَّٰهِ لَا اِلٰہَ اِلَّا اللّٰہُ ٱلْعَلِيُّ ٱلْعَظِيمُ
لَا اِلٰہَ اِلَّا اللّٰہُ الْحَلِیْمُ الْکَرِیْمُ
سُبْحَانَ اللّٰہِ وَتَعَالَىٰ رَبِّ الْعَرْشِ الْعَظِیْمِ
وَالْحَمْدُ لِلّٰہِ رَبِّ الْعَالَمِیْنَ
كَأَنَّهُمْ يَوْمَ يَرَوْنَهَا لَمْ يَلْبَثُوا إِلَّا عَشِيَّةً أَوْ ضُحَاهَا
كَأَنَّهُمْ يَوْمَ يَرَوْنَ مَا يُوعَدُونَ لَمْ يَلْبَثُوا إِلَّا سَاعَةً مِّن نَّهَارٍ
بَلَاغٌ ۚ فَهَلْ يُهْلَكُ إِلَّا الْقَوْمُ الْفَاسِقُونَ
In the name of Allah, there is no deity but Allah, the Exalted, the Great One.
There is no deity except Allah, the Ever Forbearing, the Generous One.
Glorified is Allah, the Most High, the Lord of the Magnificent Throne.
And all praise is for Allah, Lord of the worlds.
The day they will see it, it will seem to them as if they did not live (in the world) but only for one afternoon or for the morning thereof. [79:46]
The Day they will see what they are promised, (it will be) as if they did not stay (in the world) more than an hour in a single day.
This is a message. So, none will be destroyed except the sinners. [46:35]
Sayyiduna Ali (ra) says: This Dua should be written on paper and tied to the arm of the woman. We have experienced that there is nothing more amazing than this. [Fatawa Ibn Taymiyya, 19/65]
