In Loving Memory of Maulana Muawiya Saleh (رحمه الله)
“Indeed, to Allah we belong and to Him shall we return.” [2:156]
With a heart full of grief and surrender to Allah’s Decree, we share that our beloved Maulana Muawiya returned to his Rabb after a long, courageous battle with cancer.
While he had completed 75% of his CBT certification and was preparing to serve the Muslim community through his coaching, Allah ﷻ had written for him a different journey home.
Though we can no longer offer his coaching services, we keep this page as a testament to:
🌱 His passion for helping Muslim men find peace through Islamic teachings.
🌱 The unfinished dreams that remind us all of life’s fleeting nature.
🌱 The Barakah that remains in sincere intentions for the sake of Allah ﷻ.
A Request from Our Family
If this page touched you, please make Dua:
“O Allah, forgive him and have mercy on him, grant him ease and pardon him. Honor his abode and expand his entry. Cleanse him with water, snow, and ice, and purify him from sins as a white garment is cleansed of dirt. Replace his home with a better home, his family with a better family, and his spouse with a better spouse. Admit him into Paradise and protect him from the punishment of the grave and the torment of the Fire.” [Sahih Muslim]
In the Words of His Wife
“The death of a scholar is a loss for the entire universe.”
Ibn Mas’ud (ra) said, “The death of a scholar is a loss that cannot be replaced for as long as the day and night alternate.” [Shu’ab al-Iman]
Shall I tell you what my husband was like?
He was the living embodiment of what it means to be a true believer.
Consider the words of Rasulullah ﷺ when he described the best of people.
The Prophet ﷺ said:
“The best of you are those who learn the Quran and teach it.” [Sahih Bukhari]
I bear witness that my husband spent his life in service of the Quran al-Kareem. He was a Hamil, Hafidh, and Qari of the Quran al-Kareem.
He was devoted to learning, memorizing, perfecting, revising, reciting, teaching, and practicing the Words of Allah ﷻ.
May Allah ﷻ keep his legacy and service to the Quran al-Kareem alive as a Sadaqah Jariyah till the end of times.
Then the Prophet ﷺ said:
“The best of you are the best to their women.” [Sunan Ibn Majah]
I bear witness that my husband was the most kind, considerate, caring, loving, and gentle husband and father.
He was everything a Muslim husband and father should be, fearing Allah ﷻ in his treatment of those under his care.
In another place, the Prophet ﷺ said:
“The best of you are those who, when they are seen, inspire others to remember Allah Almighty.” [Sunan Ibn Majah]
I bear witness that my husband was always concerned with preparing for his Hereafter and with pleasing Allah ﷻ.
He left this world with the greatest act of worship in which a believer can meet his Rabb, having حُسْن الظَّنِّ بِاللَّهِ – good expectations from Allah ﷻ.
May Allah ﷻ honor him according to His Sha’an.
And the Prophet ﷺ said:
“The best of you in Islam are those with the best character, if they have religious understanding.” [Musnad Ahmad]
I bear witness that my husband carried no malice in his heart against anyone, and no one carried any malice against him.
He left this world with a قَلۡب سَلِيمٖ, a righteous, pure heart. He had real understanding of the Deen, free from cultural misconceptions.
Allah ﷻ had truly intended Khayr for him and through him by virtue of his beautiful Akhlaq and true understanding of the Deen.
And now that my husband has returned to His Rabb, this verse of poetry comes to mind:
How many people are famous on this Earth but unknown in the Heavens,
and how many are unknown on this Earth but famous in the Heavens?
My husband wasn’t famous on this Earth until he left.
He was quiet, unassuming, patient, noble, and upright.
But all this time?
I am certain he was famous in the Heavens.
I am certain the Heavens and Earth wept for him as he departed this world.
Alhumdulillah for the honor of being the wife and now widow of a Hafidh of the Quran, of a practicing Alim of the Deen, and of a Shaheed (martyr).
Alhumdulillah for the honor of being the mother of the daughters of a Hafidh, Alim, and Shaheed.
A Reflection for Visitors
Maulana Muawiya’s unfinished work and sincere aspirations teach us:
🕊️ Life isn’t promised to anyone.
Don’t postpone the healing you know would help you become a better spouse, parent, child, and especially, Muslim.
Seek help for your struggles today.
🕊️ Treasure your time.
What you plan for “later” may never come.
“Take advantage of five before five:
1️⃣ Your youth before your old age,
2️⃣ Your health before your illness,
3️⃣ Your riches before your poverty,
4️⃣ Your free time before your work, and
5️⃣ Your life before your death.” [Bayhaqi]
🕊️ Invest in your legacy.
Like my late husband’s incomplete CBT course, even your incomplete efforts can inspire others to change and draw closer to Allah ﷻ.
May Allah ﷻ accept Maulana Muawiya’s sincere intentions of wanting to serve the Muslim Ummah, elevate his rank in Jannah, and accept all the Khayr that comes through this platform as a source of Sadaqah Jariyah for him as he laid the foundation of the work his wife carries out today.
Ameen.
